Cyan Gallery is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of A. Oran at the gallery.

Oran is a contemporary artist known for his layered abstract paintings that explore texture, depth, and the physical presence of color. Oran studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul and later at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where he developed his distinctive visual language.

His works are created through a meticulous process of applying and partially removing layers of paint using spatulas and wooden tools rather than brushes, resulting in surfaces that feel both architectural and atmospheric. Through subtle shifts in tone, rhythm, and materiality, his paintings invite a contemplative viewing experience, balancing structure with spontaneity. Rather than focusing on gesture alone, Oran’s compositions emphasize space and the emotional resonance of layered colors.

Over the past decades, his work has been exhibited internationally and included in important museum and private collections across Europe. We are pleased to represent his work and introduce his practice to audiences and collectors across the United States.
